A: Muscle Shoals is in the Northwest corner of Alabama. Many people think we are on the Gulf Coast because of the name, but we are actually on the Beautiful Tenessee River's Pickwick, Wilson and Wheeler Lakes. We are only minutes from the Alabama/Tennessee State line.

Q: What is MSMA?

A: The Muscle Shoals Music Association is a professional organization that promotes the Music and arts of Northwest Alabama.

Q: Do I have to be a music professional to join?

A: No. Anyone interested in promoting Muscle Shoals Music or in becoming involved with the music industry is more than welcome to join. We have members all over the world!!

Q: What does "Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers" mean in Sweet Home Alabama?

A: Leon Russell onced nicknamed some of the studio Musicians in Muscle Shoals, "The Swampers". The name stuck. Of course the song was referring to the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.
